Pool cage screen damage and panel repair
Pool enclosures in Southwest Florida are exposed to strong sun, summer storms, falling palm fronds, pets and pool toys. Over time, any of these can tear a panel, loosen the screening or wear out the spline that holds it in place. A damaged roof panel or a section pulled loose from its frame can let insects and debris into the pool area.
Small tears, loose screening and damaged spline can worsen over time as the enclosure is exposed to wind, weather and everyday use. Repairing affected panels can restore screening to those areas without automatically requiring a full rescreen.
What our pool screen repairs cover
- Wall panels with tears, punctures or loose screening.
- Roof panels damaged by falling branches, debris or wind.
- Loose or pulled-out screening where the spline has failed and the mesh has come out of the channel.
- Damaged lower enclosure screening near the deck that sees wear from pets, furniture and foot traffic.
- Screen doors, including screen door mesh replacement and door hardware such as hinges, closers, latches and handles.
How pool cage screen panel replacement works
Pool cage screen panels are typically secured in the enclosure frame with spline, a flexible cord pressed into a channel in the aluminum. Panel replacement generally involves removing the damaged screening and installing properly fitted replacement screen in the affected opening. When a panel is well fitted, it sits evenly with the surrounding screening; panels that are loose or poorly seated are more likely to sag or pull out.
Repair or rescreening?
If damage is limited to a few panels and the remaining screen is in good condition, individual panel replacement may make sense. When screening is faded, brittle, loose or damaged throughout much of the enclosure, full pool cage rescreening may be worth considering. New panels next to aged mesh may also look different in color.
When the frame is the problem
If the screening is not the primary issue and the aluminum frame, doors or enclosure components are damaged, Pool Cage Repair & Restoration may be the more relevant service.
During a free estimate, the condition of the affected screening and enclosure can be reviewed so repair, rescreening or restoration options can be discussed.
Pool screen or lanai screen?
Pool screen repair covers the pool cage or pool enclosure screening around your pool. If the damage is on a screened lanai or patio under your home's roofline, see our lanai screen repair page. Both can be discussed during the same estimate.
